This 30 Hour Diploma in Pharmacology course offers an extensive exploration of pharmacology principles and clinical aspects of pharmacology.

Pharmacology is the scientific study of how chemical substances (drugs) interact with living organisms to produce biological effects. It bridges basic science and medicine, focusing on drug development, mechanism of action, therapeutic uses, toxicity, and how the body handles medications.

It encompasses the research, development, and properties of medicines, focusing on drug composition, therapeutic uses, and actions on the body, largely divided into pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.

Clinical pharmacology is the scientific study of medicines in man and encompasses pharmacology of commonly used medicines and their therapeutic application in the disease state.

The course provides a comprehensive study of clinical pharmacology covering principles of drug action, drug classification and usage, toxicity and side effcts of various types of drugs, legislation and ethics and an introduction to pharmacogenetics and personalised medicine.

Entry Requirements             :  G.C.E A/L’s in the Bio stream or a Foundation Diploma in Science and age not less than 20 years, and Fluency of the English language is essential.

The current 2026 all-inclusive Course Fee for new Students is as follows:

For Non-IMH Students: Rs. 40,000/- (full course fee for new students)

For Previous IMH Students: Rs. 30,000/- (Discounted course fee)

For Overseas / International Students: USD $140

Course fees has to be paid in full by cash, cheque, credit / debit card or via a bank transfer or deposit payment.

Final Course Assessment / Evaluation

There are only four separate assignments to be completed at home and submitted to the IMH for evaluation. Once a “pass” grade has been achieved for all four assignments the Internationally Accredited Diploma in Medical Science and course transcript will be awarded to the registered student.
