Course Title : Certificate in Psychology (CP)

For whom (target group) : This is an essential basic or foundation program for all teachers, trainers, lecturers, counsellors, lawyers, priests, medical and para-medical officers, HR and HRD managers and executives, social and community health workers, police officers, and other professionals and enthusiasts interested in gaining a broad and comprehensive understanding and insight of general psychology with an introductory overview of the various branches of applied psychology. This course will also help you increase your effectiveness in understanding the complex and often unpredictable psycho-social intra-personal and inter-personal dynamics of human behaviour in the family, work and social environment. It will also contribute to your personal self-development, by fostering the ability to better appreciate, evaluate and analyze, empathize, synthesize and communicate with and relate to others more effectively as individuals, in groups and within organisations. Successful completion of this foundation course will also act as a springboard for entry into higher academic or professional Diploma / Advanced or Higher Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree level courses of study in Psychology, Social Work, Human Behaviour, Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Entry Requirements : University Graduates in any discipline, or Members of recognized Professional bodies, or Three passes at the G.C.E A/L, or Professional / Academic Diploma or Advanced / Higher (National) Diploma holders, or G.C.E. O/L’s with relevant work experience or with a recognized Diploma, and Age not less than 17 years, and Fluency of the English language is essential.
Course Duration : 4.5 Months – part time intensive study

Total No. of Classes : 18 class-contact sessions over 18 weeks
Total No. of Contact Hrs : 72 Hrs. of Lectures

Mode of Final Examination and Assessment

The IMH Certificate in Psychology (CP) will carry a 2-hour internally set unseen MCQ paper to be answered on a closed book examination mode. The minimum exam pass mark is 60%.

Progression Pathway : 1. IMH Diploma in Psychology and Counselling

2. IMH Diploma in Educational Psychology

Total Course Fees (Group Class) : Rs. 60,000/- + Rs. 1,000/- for registration (Inclusive of an A/C class room and all course materials). Maximum of 10 students in a group due to covid-19 health guidelines.

Please note that the total course fee of Rs. 61,000/- could be paid in two installments of Rs. 31,000/- and Rs. 30,000/- for new students by bank transfer or deposit, cash, card or cheque for the group class.
